Abstract
1) There had been performed the TB Mass Survey for 3,442. students of middle and
high schools in Seoul, the capital of this country.
2) Rate of the surveyed to the expected for the campaign was 99.48% and this
showed good results. The remarkable number of students had Participated the campaign
and showed their understanding and cooperation for this purpose.
3) Positive rate in the Tuberculin Test showed 88.47%, which is fairly high, however,
the rate by sex was found no considerable difference.
4) 4.27% pulmonary TB cases.(suspected TB, suggestive TB) and 2.09% active TB
cases were found through the campaign. The rates revealed the gradual increase by that
of students, age, no difference by their sex.
5) Classified 147, of the pulmonary TB cases, (suspected TB, suggestive TB) are
needed medical supervision, and 56 (38.10%) need treatment. Considerable Number of TB
cases are expected to be found as continuing the campaign. Therefore, it is necessary to
strength the TB mass survey and provide sufficient facilities for treatment of 73 cases
in the present and future campaign.
